Our Story

Pancare Properties was established in 2009 as a response to the 08/09 recession, to provide construction & civil services to residential, commercial and industrial properties and infrastructure in the Cape Town and surrounding areas.

Around the time the construction industry took a huge blow leaving many tradesman and artisans unemployed. Some of the big name construction companies at the time went under whilst others were cutting their labour forces. Our Founder, Jody Pannewitz got wind of this and started mobilizing these highly experienced and skilled artisans by connecting them to contract type job opportunities.

At the year and half mark in and well after the 2010 Football World Cup, the company started showing a steady stream of construction projects, which was welcomed by all on-board.

Brick by brick the company was built to what is today with help of many family members, friends and the community.

To date the company has completed close on 1000 projects

Social Responsibility

Our firm fully understands the importance of contributing to society for the greater good of all and this is driven by our Corporate social responsibility ethos “It takes a village to raise a child”.

Sponsor to a Local Football Club

Sponsor to a Local Football Club
In the first few years of the company’s existence, a local football club approached our Director and firm for sponsorship as they struggled with equipment and gear. Understanding the positive impact the club has on youngsters in the area, it was only natural that our firm took on the role as sponsor of their First team.

Sponsor and Partnership with the 9Miles Project (Non-profit organisation)

9Miles Project
The 9miles Project organisation run by Nigel Savel, another exemplary young leader from the community whose organisation works with youth in informal settlements and provides mentorship and support to at-risk youth in the areas of Cape Town.

In 2013 our Jody Pannewitz and Nigel Savel met through a common pastime they both enjoyed, surfing. After many time shared in the water it was apparent the two both had big goals for the youth and community of the small village they grew up in. The 9miles project needed a place where they could start their programs to positively impact the youth. Eventually they were given an old club house at the Strandfontein Pavilion by the City of Cape Town. The building needed lots of work to house, feed and educate the kids after school. This is where Pancare got involved, we donated towards the upgrading of infrastructure, we physically assisted in turning an old club house into a safe and workable space by adopting a kid’s financial needs.

Today the 9Miles project is over 10 years old, and have branched out to Elands bay along our West Coast and Cape St Francis along our East coast, providing mentorship programs to at-risk youth.
